Christmas Eve

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!  I just wanted to tell everybody what my family and I are planning to do today.  I am not that sure the order that we are doing these in.

1.Gingerbread Houses

My family and I are going to be decorating one big gingerbread house and 5 mini ones to make a cute little North Pole village.  I am so excited to do this!  We never ever decorate gingerbread houses this time of year (or any other time of year haha)  and so I am super glad that we are this year.

2.Happy Birthday Jesus!

It is Jesus’ birthday tomorrow, but we are celebrating today!  It is very important to celebrate the real reason why Christmas is even a holiday.  To celebrate, we are going to sing and eat yummy cupcakes!

3.Christmas Lights

When it gets dark we are going to one of our old neighborhoods with hot chocolate and we are going to look at all the beautiful Christmas lights that are up this year.  I love doing this!  It really gets you in the mood for Christmas day.

4.IHOP

This has been a tradition in our family for years.  We go to IHOP for dinner on Christmas Eve!!

5.Midnight Christmas Eve Service

Last year we did this and we liked it so much that we are doing it again.  We rarely go to this church during the year but I love it.  Olivia’s best friend, Lexi, and her family attend this church.  Anyway…we are going to a Christmas Eve service at midnight!  I did realize though, that since it is a midnight service…wouldn’t it be Christmas day??  Kinda crazy to think about, right?!?

6.Christmas Eve Present

Every year before we go to bed on Christmas Eve we get to open up one present.  It has been a tradition for us since I was at least 8, but I could’ve been younger.  I love this tradition…it is just really fun for me.  🙂

I think that is all we are planning on today.  The plans may change, but as far as I know, they won’t.  🙂  For me it still doesn’t feel like Christmas time, but I am ready for Christmas time!  I hope that today gets me feeling super Christmassy!  I hope that you have enjoyed this post.  In the comments tell me what you are doing today and tomorrow!

Merry Christmas Eve!

Much love,

Claire ❤

Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was so great!  It started with us waking up, eating cranberry bread and watching Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Afterwards we went to the McCormick’s house for our 10th or 11th Thanksgiving spent with them.  Kate and I just hung out and did some stuff before dinner.  Kate and Megan also showed us their remake of Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas.  It was called Dab Yourself A Memey Little Christmas.  It was really funny!  We were all called down to dinner.  All of the kids were at one table and the parents were at the other table.  A tradition we do when all of the kids are at their house and we are there for dinner we play the game Telephone around the table.  It is really fun!  We did that on this Thanksgiving too!  After dinner we watched the Thanksgiving movie we made about 4 years ago and we watched another video that we made a couple years ago of old videos of us.  Then Megan, Emma, Kate and I played Just Dance 2015 and 2016 on the Xbox and we played a fun card game.  Olivia and my parents left and Emma and I stayed to have a sleepover.  After the card game we went straight to sleep because it was midnight.  Kate and I fell asleep to Christmas music.  I only slept 3 full hours and that was about it, because I woke up at 4am and then Kate’s cat decided to curl up next to me and I couldn’t fall back asleep.  In the morning Kate and I decorated her room for Christmas.  We put up Christmas lights in her room, we wrapped lights around one of the three small trees in her room and we spent three hours making and hanging up paper snowflakes for her room.  I had so much fun and I am so thankful for the McCormick’s.

Yesterday and Today

It is day 6 of Thanksgiving break!!  As most of you know, my family and I are moving!  Yesterday we started packing up our stuff!  Today we are doing the same.  I have packed 2 big boxes and 2 small boxes so far.  I have packed books, stuffed animals, pajamas, bath stuff from Lush, backpacks and purses, and lots of random things that were on top of my dresser.  I only need to pack up a few other random things, my lotions and perfumes, my blankets and sheets, and my clothes and shoes.  I am obviously still keeping out the things that I use everyday, which is still a good amount of things, but other than that there isn’t much else I need to pack up.  I think that I am going to go out to the car (where the boxes are)  grab a few boxes and pack up a couple more things.  🙂  In other news…Dad is taking me swimming in an hour!  He has never taken me to swim before and I am very excited that he has volunteered to today.

I hope that you have enjoyed this post!

iPad Mini, Lunch, Fruit, and Special Occasions

This morning I had cinnamon rolls and went to church.  I went to 9th grade girl small groups and then I went to the main service.  Afterwards, I found out that I had cracked the whole left side of my iPad mini!!  I’m not sure how it happened, but I have one idea.  I believe that I sat on it.  Oops!  That is okay though because I just got enough money to buy a new one!  I went to lunch with Olivia, Emma and our friends Amber and Laurie (thanks again, Amber, for the food). . . we went to Noodles and Company.  I had Penne Rosa with no veggies and it was really good, and also really spicy!  Then Laurie took us home.  I always have a good time with them!  When we got home  I didn’t do much.  I just listened to Christmas music, had hot chocolate with (the best thing ever) peppermint marshmallows, and I watched a show.  I am so so so ready for the Christmas season, but I am also super duper excited for Thanksgiving because I get to have a sleepover!!!  It will be a sleepover with Emma, Megan, Kate and me!  I am really happy that we are able to do this.  Since school started we have all been so busy.  I don’t think that we have had a sleepover for more than a year!  CRAZY!  Well, another thing that I am excited for about Thanksgiving is the mashed potatoes!!!  It is my favorite thing to eat on Thanksgiving and a lot of the time.  I also learned that my friend Nolan, who has graduated from high school this past summer, proposed to his girlfriend yesterday!  She said yes!  Another thing is it is my friend Hannah’s boyfriend’s birthday…Happy 15th Birthday!!!  It is also his twin brother’s birthday (obviously) so Happy Birthday to you too!  Well….That is all…Bye!!

I really hope that you all have enjoyed this post and have been enjoying the past two before that I posted recently.  I hope also that you are having a great week and I hope that your Thanksgiving is great!

My 15th Birthday Is In Only 2 Weeks and What I Did Today For Day 3 of Thanksgiving Break :)

I feel like this is the only thing I post about and nothing else. My birthday!  It is coming up soon.  Only 15 more days!  November has gone by pretty quickly!  WOW!  In other news, Christmas music started playing on the radio yesterday!  Yippee!  That’s all I really have to say about that.

Today I went to a donut shop for breakfast, the library for a book sale that was going on, Target so that we could look at all of the Christmas things (we bought peppermint marshmallows for our hot chocolate), Panera Bread for lunch and back home.  We had teriyaki chicken and steamed rice for dinner, and I just came upstairs from watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix.  (I am on Season 3, Episode 12 and I have only been watching this show for about a month.  That means that this month I have watched 55 episodes of Gilmore Girls!!!!! I love it way too much :D)  Now I am going to get a quick snack, workout for physical therapy stuff, and go straight to bed because I am sooooo tired right now.

Bye!

Swimming

As some of you know I started swim team last year.  I am still on that same team this year at our local recreation center.  My team is called The Piranhas.  Anyways, last Saturday (February 20th, 2016) we had a swim meet against the Tsunamis, The Barracudas, and another team that for some reason I can’t remember the name :).

We start out our meets with a warm up.  This means that we do a 200 choice (200 meter swim-our choice of stroke) and 4 50s in IM order (50 meter butterfly, 50 meter backstroke, 50 meter breaststroke, 50 meter freestyle) with a 15 second rest in between each 50.  It gets pretty tiring…

Anyways…

These are the events that I was apart of.

———————————

50 Free

50 Back

200 Medley Relay – Back

200 Free Relay

———————————

I will explain all of these to you.

The 50 free can be translated as the 50 meter freestyle.  This means that I was swimming freestyle.  This also means that I was going from one end of the pool to the other, and back.  In this race I got 3rd out of 4th place!  I was so happy because I normally get last place on this one.

The 50 back can be translated as the 50 meter backstroke.  This means nearly the same as the 50 free, except I swam backstroke instead.  I believe that on this one I go last place.  Also, my coach (Maggie) said that I wasn’t kicking properly.  I was kicking with my knees and not my whole legs.

The 200 medley relay – back, can be translated as the 200 meter medley relay and that I swam backstroke.  A relay is when you have a team that swims with you.  A medley means that everyone has a stroke.  One has fly (butterfly), one has breast (breaststroke), one has free (freestyle), and the other has back (backstroke).  Also 200 is when you start at one end of the pool and go to the other, and then you come back, and then you go to the other end again, and then you come back, and then you go to the other end again, and then you come back, and then you go to the other end again, and then you come back.  Since it is a relay though, it was split up so that each of us only do 50s. We lost this one by a lot, but it was very fun.

The last one is 200 Free Relay.  This means that my relay team and I are swimming a 200 meter freestyle relay.  We are all swimming a 50 free. This one I think we got second to last place.  That was cool :).

I had a lot of fun at my swim meet!  I can’t wait for the next one coming up this March!!

I hope that you enjoyed this post!

Birthday Countdown and What I Am Going To Be Doing On My Birthday

There are three more days until my birthday (December 5th)!!!

On December 4th I will be at a sleepover.  That will (obviously) go on until the day of my 14th birthday on December 5th.  On December 5th at the same house there will be a tea party with lots and lots of kids (that I don’t know).  I think it will be very fun!  The tea party is over at 11:30am and once Olivia and I are picked up from it, we are heading straight to my birthday celebration!

We are going straight to Lush Cosmetics.  Lush is a shop filled with stuff for you bath (bath bombs, bubble bars, bath melts), shower (shower scrubs, soap, shower jellies, shower gels, etc.), body (body conditioners, etc.), face (face masks, etc.), lips (lip scrubs, lip tints), and hair (shampoo, shampoo bar, conditioner, conditioner bar, etc.).

Go to this website — http://www.lushusa.com — if you would like to look at the website yourself.

After Lush, there might be some present opening and going around to a few more stores.  Once all of that super fun stuff is done, we will be going to Village Inn for dinner and pie!  It was a really hard decision to choose between mochi ice cream and pie.  Pie became the winner!

I am so excited for my birthday!  I can’t stop talking about it.  Oh, and don’t worry!  I promise that I will talk to you all on the phone, but it will have to be after 12:00pm.  Thanks!  🙂

I hope that you have enjoyed this post!
